Dr. Ibrahim Issifu

Dr. Ibrahim Issifu, who holds a PhD in Economics, is a Research Associate in interdisciplinary Ocean and Fisheries Economics at the University of British Columbia. Ibrahim holds dual master’s degrees: one in economics and another in business administration (finance), along with a bachelor’s degree in economics. Specializing in blue food assessment, marine plastic pollution, and climate change and adaptation, Ibrahim brings over a decade of field and research experience, including a key contributor to the six-year partnership “Solving the Sustainability Challenges at the Food-Climate-Biodiversity Nexus” (Solving-FCB).

Ibrahim’s expertise spans several analytical tools, including Python, Stata, and Microsoft Excel. He has notably contributed to the Blue Food Assessment project, a key component of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit.
