Dr. Maruf is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in Law at the School of Law, Dalian Maritime University, China, specializing in the Law of the Sea and International Environmental Law. He holds an LL.M. in Environmental and Natural Resource Protection Law from Ocean University of China and a Ph.D. in Law, specializing in the Law of the Sea, from the School of Law, Xiamen University. Dr. Maruf’s research focuses on international legal norms and global ocean governance processes aimed at preventing and mitigating the impacts of human activities on the marine environment, including climate change, marine plastic pollution, and underwater noise. His work has been published in peer-reviewed international journals such as Marine Policy, Ocean and Coastal Management, the International Journal of Marine and Coastal Law, and the Asia-Pacific Journal of Ocean Law and Policy.
